Key takeaways

  1. A connector is a second vendor, a second bill and a second outage.
  2. Native means the WhatsApp thread is the activity on the deal, including delivery ticks.
  3. The 24-hour customer-service window has to show in compose, or messages fail silently.
  4. Qivity connects your own WABA. Meta bills conversations; Qivity does not mark them up.

A WhatsApp CRM connector is a bridge. Your CRM does not speak WhatsApp; a marketplace app does, for a fee, with its own uptime. A native inbox is the opposite: the thread is a first-class channel on the deal, the way email is when the mailbox is inside the CRM.

This is the question to ask in a demo, because almost every vendor will say yes to “do you have WhatsApp?”

How to tell them apart

SignalConnectorNative
Who you payCRM + Meta + connectorCRM + Meta
Where the thread livesThe other product, syncedThe CRM record
24-hour windowOften hidden until send failsShown in compose
Rep leavesHistory may stay in the connectorHistory stays on the account
CampaignsSeparate audience, separate suppressionsSame lists as email

A wa.me button is neither. It is a link. We covered that in the WhatsApp 24 hour rule.

Why connectors fail at month four

The bill shows up. The outage is not your CRM vendor’s problem. The suppression list in the CRM does not match the broadcast tool. A discount agreed in chat is not on the opportunity. None of that is visible in a five-screen demo.

What Qivity ships

WhatsApp in Qivity is the company number, or a number per rep, or both. Two-way inbox, ticks, attachments, template-only state when the window is closed, campaigns against CRM audiences, a digest to the rep’s phone. Growth and above.

Meta still bills the WABA. That is correct. Anyone who “includes WhatsApp messages” is either absorbing Meta’s rate or not on the Business API.

The demo

Connect a test number. Send a template outside the window. Reply as the customer. File it on a deal. If that requires logging into a second dashboard, you bought a connector. We will do that live.
